WHS senior Kimberly Alejandro, received a $500.00 scholarship

On Saturday 10/21/17 the Waco HS "LION PRIDE" Band traveled to Midway ISD to compete in the UIL Region 8 marching contest.

The Waco High student body gathered to send off the Waco Lions Tennis team to face the Ennis Lions in the first round of playoffs. Produced, filmed and edited by freshman Isabella Riggs.

Waco High School Academy Ambassadors 2017-2018 The Academy Ambassador program markets through student voice and choice, their chosen Academy and program of study to other students inside and outside of the school environment. The Ambassadors meet on a regular basis, provide candid feedback to the campus administrators, as well as visitors to the campus. They provide service, leadership and program development. They may also share information for the college and career preparation journey.

WHS Engine Lift - Waco High School Automotive Technology students from the Academy of Transportation remove a car engine, work on it and lift it back in.

The videos are part of the activities being sponsored by the Walk N Roll Steering Committee, the group working on the annual celebration in Waco of National Disability Employment Awareness Month. These two from Waco High are the first two of a larger collection we hope to build and have available in the future. Their purpose is to show people with a variety of disabilities doing ordinary, everyday jobs of all kinds in and around Waco, showing the ways their gifts are being used to contribute to others and to the community. Thus, we hope to encourage young people with disabilities in transition to the adult world and others with disabilities in their own education and job searches, while also serving as an awareness tool for employers. Mr. Bill Gaventa’s role in making all this happen is that he works with the Mayor’s Committee on Disabilities and have served on the Walk N Roll Committee.
