National Disability Employment Awareness Month

The videos are part of the activities being sponsored by the Walk N Roll Steering Committee, the group working on the annual celebration in Waco of National Disability Employment Awareness Month. These two from Waco High are the first two of a larger collection we hope to build and have available in the future. Their purpose is to show people with a variety of disabilities doing ordinary, everyday jobs of all kinds in and around Waco, showing the ways their gifts are being used to contribute to others and to the community. Thus, we hope to encourage young people with disabilities in transition to the adult world and others with disabilities in their own education and job searches, while also serving as an awareness tool for employers. Mr. Bill Gaventa’s role in making all this happen is that he works with the Mayor’s Committee on Disabilities and have served on the Walk N Roll Committee.
